Aligning to snap lines

You can align objects to a snap line in two ways:

Method 1

Select 1 (or more) object(s) that must be aligned to a snap line;
Drag the object to the snap line. As soon as an object is near the snap line the object will be aligned to the snap line automatically. This is made visible by means of a red square:

Method 2:

Select the objects you want to align to the snap line;
In the toolbar “Layout” or in the main menu Options and then the option Snap choose the right alignment operation.

There are six alignment operations: Left , Right , Top , Bottom , Center horizontally and Center vertically . The operations align the edges or centers of the selected objects to the snap line.

Note:

The objects will be aligned to the closest snap line. If an object is too far from a snap line the object will not be aligned. The maximum allowed distance between an object and a snap line can be set in the screen "Settings" on the “tab page Misc”.
